Living Art America Competition in Atlanta

The Living Art America Competition in Atlanta was by far one of the most exciting events I have ever participated in.  I was fortunate to meet so many high caliber artists, talented & skilled photographers, meticulous organizers, and a classy audience.  I modeled for Tashi Honnery who is from Sydney Australia, but is currently serving time (as all good artists do) in Los Angeles.  Tashi is a very young lady though you may not guess it by her amazing work.  The overall theme for Living Arts America was “the human condition.”  Tashi narrowed that down to love as a component of the human condition and I, as Cupid carried that to the jury and finally on to the audience.

Tashi was assisted by another very talented artist, Frank Orthel.  Frank is an amazing bodypainting artist in his own right and is also a true southern gentleman.  He graciously introduced me to the many warm & friendly faces who helped organize the event like Scott Fray & Madelyn Greco.  Frank lives in Greensboro, NC where a feeder event for Living Art America is held the week prior to the main event in Atlanta.  He sure has a lot of energy!

This was the third event I participated in and the fourth I attended.  Be sure to check out The Human Zoo, bodypainting workshop, and the Body Art Cabaret.

I am very grateful to the following photographers for these beautiful images: David Leo, Ralph Williams, Richard A LaMare, Rick Badillo, and Thomas Ledford (featured image).

44edward I know, you are right!   And I love to smile!  I wanted to smile and look happy on stage and at the jury table, but the artist requested that I not smile.  I thought it was odd but respected their wishes.  Here are some very happy body-painting photos of me:
